CIPR International elects new committee for 2022

CIPR International elected a new committee for 2022 at its AGM held on 21 October, during which Samantha Seewoosurrun was elected as the new Chair and the current Chair Andras Sztanislav was elected as Vice Chair. Tatiana Baió was also elected as the new Secretary of the Committee and Stuart Graham remains as Treasurer.

Commenting on her election as Chair for 2022, Samantha Seewoosurrun commented:

“It is an honour and a privilege to be elected as the next Chair of the CIPR International Committee, which has a vital role to play in engaging with CIPR members around the globe. Now that the CIPR has become a fully virtual organisation, there are equal opportunities for PR professionals in any part of the world to update their skills in a changing world and even to attain Chartered PR Practitioner status through an online assessment to prove their value to the market.”

“I am delighted to say that the incoming committee for 2022 is the most diverse committee that we have ever had, which will help us to expand our reach in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean, among others. I am very much looking forward to formally welcoming the new committee on board in January and to working alongside Andras Sztanislav, who has done a tremendous job as Chair over the past three years, in his new role as Committee Vice Chair,” she added.

Andras Sztaniszlav, current Chair of CIPR International Committee who will remain in the committee in the role of Vice Chair, commented:

“Over the last few years, our group and CIPR have done a great deal to provide a membership service and networking opportunities to PR professionals from all over the world. We are now broadening our offer, with incoming committee members based outside the UK (like Samantha and myself) and student members onboard as well. This means that our committee is not only more diverse, but has also expanded in terms of geography, seniority and sectoral experience.”

“We have also established a four-year strategy for the committee, based on a survey of our members, which is aligned with the Institute’s overall strategy. We have strongly promoted Chartership, as one of the most valuable offers of the CIPR, and I am very proud to say that nearly half of the members of our new committee are Chartered PR professionals, which sets a high standard for the committee and our work. I am very pleased to support Samantha and her plans for further expansion to promote professionalism in the PR industry globally,” Andras concluded.
